Art Gallery

Kamyanka Art Gallery is a department of the Kamyanka State Historical and Cultural Reserve. Year of creation of the gallery 1993. The first periodical exhibitions were held based on the local Petro Tchaikovsky’s Music School’s facilities.

After the foundation of the Kamyanka State Historical and Cultural Reserve in 1995, the Art Gallery received two exhibition halls in the Davydovs Family’s house. This is an old building of the late nineteenth century, which was owned by the Davydovs Family – the dynasty of nobles who owned the manor in Kamyanka since XVIII century until 1917.

The Permanent Exhibition Hall presents works of art made by local masters, both professionals and amateurs. Among them, there are the most widely represented names of the Honored Artist of Ukraine: graphic artist Pavlo Kutsenko, Honored Master of Folk Art Makar Mukha. There is also being formed the exposition of Olga Berdnik-Otnyakina, the Honored Master of Folk Art, author of the ceramic toy. Among amateur works, Ihor Tymchuk’s paintings are distinguished by the originality and delicacy of their painting techniques.

All presentations of temporary exhibitions take place in Hall No. 2 (the exhibition area of 55 sq.m.). Here is a wide space, sufficient height of walls that allow presenting at the same time up to 70 – 80 works of an average format.

The exhibition activity allows the audience to be acquainted with different techniques of artistic creation: tapestries, artistic embroidery, batik, computer graphics, embroideries, etchings, decor, and painting. Among the numerous exhibitions, a special mention should be made of the presentations of works by Karl Mazer (mid-19th century, in the series “Sacred Monuments of Kyiv”), Maria Pryimachenko, and Makar Muha (to the 100th anniversary of his birth).

In the Art Gallery, there are held scientific, educational, collecting works, thematic masterclasses, conversations, literary and musical compositions that cover a wide audience, and assist to a wider perception of the available material in the artistic form.
